Bug Description

I randomly get hard freezes, regardless of what I'm doing. This is on a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04 - Reinstalled multiple times, still getting this issue. Ran smart checks on my disk, and memory tests but everything seems ok.

Checked the logs, and the last entries seems to be a spam of this

There is issue with NVIDIA in ubuntu and in debian, i figured exactly the issue - it freezes when adaptive mode is set on graphics card, after some time once graphics want to rest - screen freezes. Keeping card at full power keeps system stable. Clearly some power management bug.

I've experienced the issue mostly when I'm doing work stuff (software dev - so compiling, code indexing etc) OR when I'm doing daily backups with Timeshift and Pika. This might indicate that the issue is not GPU specific OR that there are multiple things causing crashes to my system.

Unfortunately, this problem has caused significant disruptions to my workflow, leading me to consider switching to another distro soon. I'm happy to provide further details or bug reports if needed to help diagnose this issue.
