Raspberry Pi mouse buttons left and right unresponsive (on a PC)

Using the event tracker tool
(
xmodmap -pp > ~/xmodmap-pp
xev | grep -i button
), buttons 4 and 5 are responsive, optical works (the cursor moves across the screen).

Left and right click buttons are unresponsive. Mouse connected via USB.

Also you don't seem to be using a Raspberry Pi or Xorg here. Was the mouse plugged into a different machine?

Hi. I'm sorry for left-out details. This is my first time reporting a bug.
The issue occurs when using a Raspberry Pi mouse plugged into a DELL
Latitude 3510 machine running Ubuntu 23.10.
