Bug Description

on my Lenovo ThinkPad P14s gen 4, external monitors are no longer detected since installing 6.5.0-14.

Neither USB-C nor HDMI work. hwinfo and the "Displays" util don't show any additional monitors, only the built-in one.

Charging through the monitor does work. also, the built-in USB hub of the monitor works.

I have tried with 2 external monitors (both ultra-wide, one Dell, one Samsung)

Going back to 6.5.0-13 fixes everything.

Let me know if there's any way I can help troubleshoot this.

Also affects 6.5.0-15

I just noticed that on reboot, a text-mode error message flashes past:

systemd-shutdown[1]: Could not detach DM /dev/dm-0: Device or res [truncated]
systemd-shutdown[1]: Failed to finalize DM devices, ignoring.

6.5.0.13 doesn't do that. No idea if it's related or not.

+ [amdgpu] since Linux kernel 6.5.0-14 external monitors are no longer

I just "fixed" this: turns out, I have, at some point in the past, added `blacklist amdgpu` to `/etc/modprobe.d`, as part of an unrelated troubleshooting session probably, and forgot about it.

I don't know why that wouldn't break 6.5.0-13 as well; maybe `update-initramfs` failed or wasn't executed so the config didn't get into the initramfs image.

Anyway, I removed the blacklist line and ran `update-initramfs`, after which everything works fine.

Sorry for the distraction.
