Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image-
This is an Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64 16-core Dell PowerEdge R900 system with built-in ATI video. The system does not run X. I am using the boot option video=radeonfb:
After upgrading from linux-image 2.6.24-7.12 to 2.6.24-12.22, after booting, the VT#1 console works normally. However when I switch to VT#2, the screen is blank except for the cursor. Normally there would be a login prompt. Upon switching back to VT#1 that console is blank too.
Rebuilding with this patch reversed:
fixes the problem.

I suspect this fix will also fix Bug #201591
It is apparently not specific to radeonfb.
