Bug Description

This morning I did the kernel update that arrived yesterday. Now, after I login I get a solid green screen and that's where it stays.
the upgrade took the machine from:
vmlinuz-5.15.0-84-generic
To:
vmlinuz-5.15.0-86-generic

I rebooted into 84-generic and everything worked correctly, as pre-update.

I have the same problem. The Release Notes for 21.2 has a section titled "Solving freezes during the boot sequence" that sounds similar this problem. Even though I have an AMD video board instead of NVIDIA, I tried the listed fixes to no avail. I gave up and went back to vmlinuz-5.15.0-84-generic.

I've got the same problem. I'm not sure that any sort of log collection is impossible however, as the system doesn't crash until after GUI login. I can switch to text only (ctrl-alt-F2) and login that way. A crash report is saved when the crash occurs - I can collect some stuff after rebooting. problem has persisted through next kernel releases, I'm getting this with 5.15.0-89 now. See attached.

attaching crash info.

I'd have to say blueman-applet is not what I expected to see here.

I can login from another box and do any diagnostic work that you need. Just let me know what you want. BTW, Software Rendering lets me login and get a desktop.
