Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24

I've been using Hardy since alpha 4. Today I updated my system (kernel 2.6.24-12.19) and since then, I have no sound (in any application, even in the loggin screen).

When I try to set the sound louder (xfce volume control), it goes back to zero automatically.

Possibly same problem here.

When I click "Open Volume Control":

1st error:
The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured.

You can remove the volume control from the panel by right-clicking the speaker icon on the panel and selecting "Remove From Panel" from the menu.

2nd error:
No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found.

With the 2.6.24-11 kernel 'everything' works fine.

Feel free to ask if I can provide you with further information.
