Ubuntu VMs have wrong screen resolution (1024x768 instead of ≈1920x1000)

Bug Description

When creating Ubuntu VMs under GNOME Boxes in PureOS 10, the default screen resolution is 1024x768, despite the actual virtual display resolution being around 1920x1000 and this resolution being correctly detected by Ubuntu. This happens on Ubuntu 21.10, 22.04 and Kinetic.

This does not happen on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04.

A workaround is to set the display resolution manually to the correct value (around 1920x1000) in Settings > Display, that appears as an option.
