Bug Description

If I click shutdown it will enter a "limbo" state, where some LEDs are on but it won't react to anything except holding power for a forced shutdown. It will drain the batteries this way. Quite annoying.

Is there anything on the screen at this point, or is it completely blank? If you press the escape key when this happens, do you see any log messages?

Screen is completely blank and unlit. The fan is running on low speed, the LEDs "FnLk" and "Muted Mic" stay on (it's a Lenovo T460s).

Pressing ESC doesn't seem to change anything and doesn't display log messages.

Approximately three rows of log messages are displayed for a split-second *before* entering this state.

Addendum: After a second try, the fan was off and the few lines of output did not appear. The LEDs were still on and the display blank and unlit.

Btw. the same thing happens if the laptop is in suspend, both if suspend is triggered manually or automatically if its running on battery power. The only difference: In suspend the power LED is slowly blinking. But it can not "wake up".
