Bug Description

On a clean 22.04 install, the screen randomly blanks once in a while for a couple of seconds, then comes back.

I see the following message in dmesg when it happens:

I have same problem.
i update to 22.04 from 20.04. i update kernel to 5.15.0-25-generic, still having problem

my computer is thinkpad t480s, connect to external monitor by type-c or thunderbolt 3, both have this kind of problem

Alberto,

That log message and screen blanking are often associated with insufficient link bandwidth in the monitor cable/connections. Does this relate to an external monitor?

I have the same issue with Dell Precision 3541 using Ubuntu 22.04 with Wayland.
Video card is NVidia Quadro P620 and I am using propretary drivers with On-demand option.

In my case it is not related with external monitor, it happens with or without an external monitor connected. Sometimes screen start blancking and after moving mouse it stops.

Daniel,

yes I'm using an external monitor via DP. This is the same setup I've been using for a long time with no issue. I've reverted to the Impish kernel (mainly because of an other kernel issue preventing suspend/resume) and that makes the issue disappear.
