Bug Description
I started getting kernel general protection faults after upgrading to kubuntu 21.10, from 21.04.
Has happened five times since then. Each time the crash happened when closing a Google Chrome window. Each time, the Chrome window was left partially transparent - the crash happened during the window fade-out animation.
Sometimes the crash makes it into the syslog, sometimes it doesn't. When it does, nvidia is on the call trace stack. A clip from a crash log is attached.
I ran memtest86 V8.4. No failures. The machine had been completely stable for years prior to the system upgrade.
