2008-02-26 10:56:01 kev51773 description Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics I'm running Gutsy on an Acer Aspire 7720G laptop. The Alps touchpad is using xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 0.14.6-0ubuntu10 When using the 4-way scroll button the following occurs. Up - Scrolls down (Unless its been broken by previously pressing Right or Down) Left - Same effect as mouse middle click. Right and Down seem to have identical results. They randomly vary from the following list 1) Mouse pointer moves a large (but not consistent) amount in a random direction 2) Simultaneous right click and crash (whole OS freezes and does not respond to CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE) 3) Pressing up stops doing anything 4) Mouse middle click Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics I'm running Gutsy on an Acer Aspire 7720G laptop. With a little messing about, I was able to get my touchpad working Up/Down were reversed but that was easy to change with xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 5 4 6 7 8 9" xmodmap had no effect when used under Gutsy.
