Bug Description

lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 21.04
Release: 21.04

Resuming causes three major, reproducible problems.
1 - The network does not start. All commands like ip address, ifconfig and lshw -C network all freeze and never complete. Rebooting remedies the problem until the next suspend.

2 - After resuming or booting the system will play sound from the headphone jack but not line out. executing "alsactl restore" activates the audio until the next suspend/reboot at which time the command must be issued again. The sound has never worked on this new machine with 21.04 until I decided to explore aslactl. None of the dozens of pages that I read about the apparently pervasive problems with sound on ubuntu ever mentioned using alsactl.

3 - External usb drives that have fstab entries and that were mounted when the system suspended are found to be dismounted after resume.

The bottom line is that at this point the system is not ready for prime-time based on its inability to resume/reboot with all functionality intact.

If additional logs, etc are needed please notify.

Thank you
