This seems related to the device renaming, this doesn't work correctly if old persistent rules are present for the wireless card. Removing these lines from /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules solves the problem for me. (also the device is now named wlan0 instead of wlan0_rename). A new correct entry will be added by 75-persistent-net-generator.rules.
