Bug Description
Hello,
I have a fresh installation of Ubuntu (Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, Release: 20.04) on one partition of my HP Probook. The other partition is Win10 Pro.
From the first moments on the touchpad didn't work. But then i could solve the issue and it worked fine for a while:
sudo apt remove xserver-
Then i installed VirtualBox and also installed some additional dependencies:
sudo apt-get install -y build-essential zlibc zlib1g-dev ruby ruby-dev openssl libxslt-dev libxml2-dev libssl-dev libreadline6 libreadline6-dev libyaml-dev libsqlite3-dev sqlite3
sudo apt-get install -y build-essential zlibc zlib1g-dev ruby ruby-dev openssl libxslt1-dev libxml2-dev libssl-dev libreadline7 libreadline-dev libyaml-dev libsqlite3-dev sqlite3
I also installed ruby 2.7.0p0 (2019-12-25 revision 647ee6f091) [x86_64-linux-gnu]
and GCC via:
sudo apt install build-essential
Now my touchpad doesn't work and i can't remove synaptics again, because its not even installed.
I also tried editing the grub file:
GRUB_CMDLINE_
and also tried:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LIN UX_DEFAULT="quiet splash psmouse.proto=bare"
GRUB_CMDLINE_
The devices-list proc/bus/
And here is the xinput list:
