Bug Description

Hello,

after my updated linux kernel 5.4.0-67 If I open Youtube and want to play a video, the video stops over and over again. Furthermore it plays with very often stops in between.
The audio is flickering too.
I tried Firefox, Brave and Celludoid. It need to be a kernel issue, because of the last update I did.
Old kernel I used: 5.4.0-60 : there works everything fine!

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1919308

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

This change has been made by an automated script, maintained by the Ubuntu Kernel Team.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 1919308

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Please note: `ubuntu-bug`, `apport` & bug reporting tools are provided with Ubuntu by default, many require manual addition for some releases of downstream OSes based on Ubuntu (eg. Linux Mint). You should check with your distribution first.

Hello Chris,

so I did
apport-collect 1919308

in terminal again, because it seems that it didn't work?

Thanks for your feedback! I am going to read it.

If there is something i can do, let me know.

Chris Guiver (guiverc) wrote :

Just an FYI: I see no confirmation (impacting only a single user of a non-Ubuntu system).

Linux Mint uses run-time adjustments (so they can use foreign (ubuntu) packages that are outside of their control), so this bug will be treated as low-value/unconfirmed until such time as it's been Confirmed, ideally on an adjustment-free system (ie. Ubuntu).

I see no elimination of the Mint specific adjustments that impact especially what's appearing on screen, thus the bug could be those adjustments aren't compatible with the updated kernel and it's the adjustments used by Mint that need fixing. A second reporting using Ubuntu (thus adjustment free) would provide confirmation it's a kernel bug issue.

Thank you for the videos (you've made it easier for other users to see if that fits their issue) thus improving chance of confirmation.

Thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better.
