Bug Description

Since I upgraded to 20.04.2 LTS I've had a problem (about once a day) with my screen going black. The computer is not unresponsive, but the only way to wake the screen up is to close and open the laptop lid. External screen is not affected.

I'm on a HP Elitebook 820 notebook.

Searched journalctl and dmesg logs but I can't find anything relevant there, so suspecting this has to do with a change of display driver and/or settings in the new version.

Please contact me if more info would be helpful. Wish you a great day!

There's a few possibilities:

1. Check if you have both light-locker and xfce4-screensaver installed. If you do, you should be able to safely uninstall light-locker.
2. It could be related to graphics. Please run `inxi -G` and provide the output so we can identify your graphics card and driver.

Hey Sean,

Thanks for you concern!

1. Yes, I had. Removed light-locker today. Since the problem happens only a few times a day it might take a while until I notice if there's a change.

2.
    $ inxi -G

Unfortunately original problem is still present after removal of light-locker.
