Václav, your result is interesting, thank you. I didn&#39;t have time to<br>
endlessly repeat the reboot tests when I did the DSDT patch so it is<br>
possible that it was in some way coincidental that the kernel didn&#39;t<br>
crash those times.<br>

Since doing that patch and having time to think about things more I&#39;m<br>
leaning towards the idea that the power management hardware is<br>
generating the unhandled event when it sees the AC adapter is connected<br>
- not the EC._REG() method because of early init. If this &#39;new&#39; theory<br>
is correct, then when the EC GPE events are enabled early the hardware<br>
can start interrupting. The problem is, as soon as I add even minimal<br>
debug messages to try and trace the code-path the bug goes away - the<br>
same as when removing the &quot;quiet&quot; kernel boot option!<br>
