Bug Description

I installed ubuntu 2 months ago and everything was fine until yesterday. I shutdown my system and when i booted my laptop, the touchpad didnt work. I tried some possible solutions by uninstalling the xserver-xorg package but that didnt help either.

The touchpad is not being detected when I list the xinput. So I read that I should file a bug report because that might be a kernel bug or soomething.

I dont know how to change the status my bug report. What I did was switch to my windows partition and boot there. The touchpad worked and now I switched back to linux and it suddenly worked.

I dont know what really happened but that fixed it for me...
I rebooted multiple times to apply the package or driver changes, so that can not be it in my opinion.
