Bug Description

Hi,
in bug 1887490 we backported several bits for better HW support into libvirt, qemu and the kernel.
Of the kernel changes it was mentioned (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1887490/comments/49) that the backport might be incomplete.

In particular commit
https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/focal/commit/?id=411a139d84bd34931e0e01d6ed5e48a718392e5d

backported

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=52297436199dde85be557ee6bc779f5b96082f74

But for that it is missing:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=864e2ab2b46db1ac266c46a7c9cefe6cc893029d

I'd ask you (the kernel team) to evaluate and consider adding this to avoid related issues on non-intel CPUs.
