Restarting with rmmod psmouse and modprobe psmouse is not working anymore, the touchpad reloads but with the wrong settings.

This is still an issue in 21.04. How can we get this fixed?

You will need to try 21.04 and tell us. Actually 20.10 reaches end-of-life next month anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately this is still not working. I installed the deb files, rebooted, put my system to sleep and woke it back up, and the trackpad was not responding after.

In case it helps find the cause, I just found that this problem doesn't seem to happen when the TrackPoint is enabled - it only happens when the TouchPad is enabled and TrackPoint *disabled*
