Bug Description

I just reinstalled kubuntu and while using my laptop my touchpad stopped working. I restarted my computer and now the touchpad doesn't show up at all and doesn't work. I followed the instructions here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection#In_case_your_Touchpad_doesn.27t_work_at_all_.28No_response_from_the_Touchpad.29 and the instructions say to file a bug since I don't see a synaptics touchpad entry in /proc/bus/input/devices. As instructed, I will also attach that file.

This should have been enabled in bug 1856583 with addition of LEN0091 id, but somehow it doesn't get probed on your system. Could you try to boot with following boot parameters that turns on driver debug prints:

  "dyndbg=file drivers/input/* +pt" i8042.debug=1

For detailed steps, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters#Temporarily_Add_a_Kernel_Boot_Parameter_for_Testing .

Sure I'll try to do that in the next few days. Once I boot with those params should I reattach /proc/bus/input/devices?

Also my touchpad started working all of a sudden. I turned my laptop on and the touchpad was just working for some reason. I see the touchpad entry in /proc/bus/input/devices as well now.
