What you really want to do is get your distro to apply the "scan
capabilities" patch to their kernel, and then backport the NM scan
capabilities patch to your distro's NM version.

This is my patch of linux-source-2.6.22 based on Dan Willimas's patch I also correct the EXTRAVERSION number reported in this my bug report https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/bugs/ 186346
