Lenovo Touchpad and Trackpad stop working with kernel upgrade

After upgrading to `linux-image-4.15.0-72-generic`, both the touchpad and trackpad stopped working completely.

The devices still show up in `xinput list` as well as libinput list-devices`. However, using `libinput debug-events --device /dev/input/event...` I get

but touching the pad or pushing buttons does not generate any events.

Switching back to `linux-image-4.15.0-70-generic`, everything works again as expected.
