Trackpad on HP Stream 11 no longer works with linux-image-4.15.0-72-generic

The trackpad on my HP Stream 11 laptop stopped working when I upgraded the kernel to linux-image-4.15.0-72-generic. It works fine with linux-image-4.15.0-70-generic. An external USB mouse also works fine.

I reported this bug with "ubuntu-bug linux" under linux-image-4.15.0-72-generic with the non-working trackpad.
