Bug Description
in Ubuntu 19.04 running GNOME, I can select 1920x1080 as the highest available resolution. The Dell docs says that is indeed the highest possible resolution usable through the HDMI interface. However, after running the following commands 2560x1440 works fine.
sudo xrandr --newmode "2560x1440R" 241.50 2560 2608 2640 2720 1440 1443 1448 1481 +hsync -vsync
xrandr --addmode HDMI-2 "2560x1440R"
I used the DisplayPort output on my laptop, but that is passively converted to HDMI.
