Does the freeze only happen when connected to wifi?

I can see a couple of errors from the kernel graphics driver suggesting the display might freeze:

[ 598.213901] [drm:intel_pipe_update_end [i915]] *ERROR* Atomic update failure on pipe A ...
[ 3696.507718] [drm:intel_pipe_update_end [i915]] *ERROR* Atomic update failure on pipe A ...

Please try logging into "Ubuntu on Wayland" and tell us if that helps.

affects: xorg (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)
Changed in linux (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
summary: - Xorg freeze

Also, it looks like you have some custom firmware installed:

  dmi.bios.version: MrChromebox-4.9

I wonder if the problem occured before installing that.
