fwiw, i tried to build 5.0.0.20.21 with v2 applied, and was able to reproduce the bug (I may have built it incorrectly though?  I git applied the two patches from a clone of git://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kernel/ubuntu/+source/linux/+git/disco and then did `fakeroot debian/rules clean` ; `AUTOBUILD=1 fakeroot debian/rules binary-debs` and installed the resulting packages)
