Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.20 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I didn't log this bug but i have the same issue on my geo book 3 same HTIX touchpad. Tested it today on mainline 4.20 and it did not fix the issue. I also have kworker consuming 100% CPU and when i echo "disable" > /sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe03 the CPU drops and the touchpad response gets noticeibly worse. This is connsistent every time i disable that interrupt.

Pretty sure its the same issue so just wnated to add this information.

I am now running kernel 4.20.2 and I am still getting the same error. The trackpad freezes for 1 second after I lift my finger up from the trackpad and try to move it again.

I need to be able to disable power saving on the trackpad so it won't lag anymore. When a USB mouse is plugged in it works just fine.

Is this working yet? Having the same exact issue on my Geo Book3X, needs too much pressure to move the cursor with the touchpad and left and right click do not work.

My laptop is also a geobook but the 3 model not the 3X. It has the same touchpad. My symptoms are exactly the same a Giovanni describes.

I've improved the touchpad response by increasing the maximum amount of power the laptop uses on battery on TLP.

For those who have TLP installed, change this settings. Is the not best, but it works a bit better.

#CPU_MIN_PERF_ON_AC=0
CPU_MAX_PERF_ON_AC=100
#CPU_MIN_PERF_ON_BAT=0
CPU_MAX_PERF_ON_BAT=80

then reload the tlp driver or restart the laptop.

sudo tlp start (make sure the laptop is not plugged in)

Seems to be working alot better for me after applying the above, although behavior is still a little inaccurate especially when trying move the mouse to small buttons or do things that require moving the mouse to a small area like when trying to resize a window . Is this a workaround rather than a fix? would something still need to be added in the kernel to fix this fully?

It works on restarting the operating system, when it turns off and on it does not work, edit the group without changing anything I write and except I do not close the nano again I delete the writing save, restart and it works. Something happens that works and then it doesn't.
