pc with ubuntu 18.04 randomly freeze and i'm forced to turn it off. This often happens while playing VLC

Look like this is an issue of graphic driver (amdgpu).

Please do a test:
add nomodeset in the boot parameter from grub, then boot the system. Make sure the X11 is working in framebuffer mode. (lsmod | grep amdgpu; make sure the amdgpu is not loaded).

Then test if it still hang randomly.
