Bug Description

Hello, I have seen different report of user regarding the right click not working when pressing on the bottom of the touchscreen.

I however have a completely different problem.

The touchpad is not working at all.
I cannot scroll. (no matter the configuration, the number of fingers or the place of my fingers)
I cannot do a right-click (no matter the configuration in tweeks)
And the pointer randomly jump somewhere in the screen when I try pressing with two fingers.

I previously had ubuntu 14.04 LTS which was perfectly working. After the upgrade to 18.04 LTS this bug directly affected me. I really cannot use my computer at all without right click.

Thanks for the fixing of this bug.

Sincerely,

Thomas

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hello
I had a few problem with this upstream kernel.
Somehow I could not boot anymore and often got at the bootup to error message :
Gnome display manager. Dispatcher service... tpacpi::kbd_backlight

I reinstalled gdm3 and after a reboot, i could boot the computer. The boot took however very long and still got stucked for a while (but i did't looked at the command line)

But the touchpad now works and i can use the right click (Y)
Thanks

If I manage to reproduce the booting bug, I'll publish a new bug with more informations
