Bug Description

The follow error is shown in dmesg on my Raspberry Pi 2:

[ 4.380151] device-mapper: uevent: version 1.0.3
[ 4.388525] device-mapper: ioctl: 4.39.0-ioctl (2018-04-03) initialised: <email address hidden>

[ 4.418378] sdhost-bcm2835 3f202000.mmc: could not get clk, deferring probe
[ 4.423879] Error: Driver 'sdhost-bcm2835' is already registered, aborting...

This may not be an issue at all, I don't know.

I also saw this on cosmic release candidate with rpi2. I ran apport-collect 1797975 as suggested but I'm not sure it really gathered anything new

Looks like same issue as reported in https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2098. We have CONFIG_MMC_BCM2835=y defined but not in raspberry pi upstream (I'm looking at https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/blob/rpi-4.14.y/arch/arm/configs/bcm2709_defconfig). Interestingly, both drivers/mmc/host/bcm2835.c and drivers/mmc/host/bcm2835-sdhost.c contains "MODULE_ALIAS("platform:sdhost-bcm2835");"
