Bug Description

After upgrading all packages and rebooting today, the internal display is blank. An external display works fine. I believe I also ran upgrades on Friday, so it was a fairly recent package. This is a MacBookPro14,3. I believe there was a kernel upgrade, not sure if there was an Xorg upgrade.

I can confirm that this is caused by the kernel update. When booting 4.17.0-9-generic the screen works correctly.

affects: xorg (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Not sure how to add a tag.

Upstream also kills the touchpad and keyboard, but the ubuntu kernel works there.

Regression still exists with 4.19-rc5. Keyboard and touchpad are working with that version.
