Same problem on my Dell Latitude 7490 with Ubuntu 18.04

with your kernel 4.15.0-42-generic
no error but the touchpad doesn't work, like if I put acpi_osi= or modprobe.blacklist=i2c_hid in GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX
