'ELAN0618 Touchpad' is not recognized on a fresh install

Bug Description
I tried ubuntu 16, 17 and 18. None of them were able to recongize my touchpad at all.
I tried to boot from a windows installation USB, the touchpad worked right away.
$ lsb_release -rd

Note: I got the touchpad manufacturer and model (Elan0618) by installing Windows to get more info as Ubuntu was unable to detect the touchpad at all.

I tried a million thing that I even can't remember. But I recently found this bug that might be related: /bugzilla. kernel. org/show_ bug.cgi? id=81331

and also someone was saying that I could fix this by adding ACPI ID to drivers/ input/mouse/ elan_i2c_ core.c (But I don't know how to edit the distribution and recompile it and all that stuff)
