Bug Description
We understand that the z patches for spectre mitigation in the kernel include introduction of an interface to enable or disable branch prediction on a per-process basis.
I don't know what that interface looks like and what the usability is for production systems. It would be helpful to have some analysis here. Is it done in a way that can be set before the process starts executing? Is it inherited? Is it bound to the filesystem in some way? cgroups?
