I just did:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt dist-upgrade -y

and this bug/error popped up.

Note: I have had this happen on a 2nd Ubuntu 17.10 system as well.

You may need to run the following from a terminal:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then re-install the package or updates.

If that does not resolve your issue, please mark the bug as "Confirmed"

Ok I opened a terminal and

sudo apt-get install -f

and got...
