Dear Kai-Heng Feng!

Thanks for your response. I have tried your kernel version, but it is the same bug with the black screen.

Best regards,

Hans

Hans Matros, to see if this is resolved upstream, could you use the latest kernel 4.15.1 without the WORKAROUND?

If it has boot issues, please provide details via https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot .

Also, when providing dmesg, please don't grep/cut/snip logs. Post them in full.

I have twice installed Linux Mint on an 2011 iMac. It is 21.5 inch with AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB graphics and 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

Every time I install Linux Mint, it boots correctly a couple times but then simply displays a totally blank screen when booted up.

Once this happens, the system will not boot correctly again.
Ubuntu works fine, why is Linux Mint broken?
