Bug Description

When trying to load the live cd, 9/10 times the system hangs when it gets to loading the bluetooth. when it did load, I installed ubuntu, and the bluetooth worked while i was installing it fine. Then i booted off of the hard drive, and 9/10 times it hangs on laoding bluetooth. then it worked one time, then i disabled it by adding exit 0; to th ebeginning of /etc/init.d/bluetooth
when it worked, here is the output of lsusb:

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ lsusb
Bus 007 Device 002: ID 05ca:1812 Ricoh Co., Ltd
Bus 007 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 03f0:171d Hewlett-Packard
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ hcitool dev
Devices:
        hci0 00:1A:6B:AC:CC:5D

When the system hangs, it is just that loading portion. I could still alt+f1 into another desktop and log in in the non graphical mode.

I isolated the line that causes problems in /etc/init.d/bluetooth
I commented it out and it no longer crashed my computer, but bluetooth doesn't work right either. it's towards the end of the file around line 242
start_hid || true
 if test "$HID2HCI_ENABLED" = "1"; then
  #enable_hci_input || true
 fi

The ubuntu 7 live cd will load sometimes, but the ubuntu 8 alpha 5 live cd would not load. I was able to log in and start gdm manually though.

is this still an issue?

it never got fixed, but I haven't heard of anybody else having any problems.
