Does the patch solve the issue?

Don't know, I've not tied it, and the author had this to say:

A possible fix might look like the following (however, this is only my
testing hot-fix to make the driver work and I have to admit that I do
not fully understand the whole thing - that's why I am not posting a
patch at this point).

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.14 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I've applied the above mentioned patch, and rebuilt the rtl8723bs module, but the same problem persists. Also tested kernel 4.14, and, as expected, the same bug is there too.

Interesting. I get complete freezes when wifi is enabled and these errors appear. With wifi disables, and modules not loaded, it works ok.
