Bug Description
Ubuntu will not boot on my ASUS UX501VW-FJ045T, unless I use the NOMODESET option in GRUB.
I disabled the splashscreen and I could see that the system hangs when trying to detect the GPU(s) showing the message:
"A start job is running for detect the available GPUs and deal with any system changes "
The laptop features Optimus technology, with an Intel HD Graphics 530 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
You can see the error in the picture attached to the report.
Ubuntu version: UBUNTU GNOME 17.04 X64
I am more than willing to help with this with further testing or information, if needed
Thank you!
