I am experiencing the same exact behavior as comments 4 and 7.
It's a MacbookPro12,1 and it does this everytime on cold boot and on reboots from Mac OS X. It does not show this behavior when rebooting from Linux.
It seems that neither my SD card reader is working from Linux nor from Mac OS X anymore.
I am really willing to help finding the root cause of this. Should you need something to help troubleshoot, please let me know.
I am starting to wonder if this is a software issue or an hardware issue.
