Bug Description

Bluetooth module seems to be 'working' but doesn't detect any devices. Tried installing new drivers but i'm told that this specific Bluetooth device is not known to Linux kernel yet.

I built a test module. You can install it this way:

wget https://launchpad.net/~hanipouspilot/+archive/ubuntu/bluetooth/+files/btusb-lp1616535-dkms_0.1_all.deb

sudo dpkg -i btusb-lp1616535-dkms_0.1_all.deb

These are two commands.

Install the module and reboot. Please report if the BT works.

If DKMS is not installed yet, first install it by

sudo apt install dkms

Installed the module and rebooted, now the BT icon doesn't appear in the taskbar. Switched on bluetooth but the option for 'Visible' and 'Add bluetooth device' cannot be accessed. So it's worst than before. Also, after installing the new Realtek Wifi and BT drivers, the Wifi doesn't connect anymore. It detects the networks but keeps asking for password and stalls.
Should i reinstall Ubuntu, and try again more carefully? I think it'll be easier than trying to make everything work again.
Thanks a lot for your help.

You can always remove the package by

sudo dpkg -r btusb-lp1616535-dkms

But it will be good if you re-install Ubuntu and test this module on a clean system.

If it still does not work, please run

dmesg > dmesg.txt

and attach the dmesg.txt file here.

I'll reinstall Ubuntu, mainly because the wifi is not working anymore, and then i'll try again with this bt module and report the results here.
Thanks a lot pilot!
