This is a feature request to enable the IBM VSCSI server for PowerVM. This is a new device driver recently accepted upstream and queued for the 4.8 kernel. It enables Linux to act as a virtual scsi *server*, allowing other Linux LPARs on the same machine to access shared storage via the VSCSI protocol.

This is a dependency, where the driver might cause a kernel crash on de-registration of target session.

This is also a dependency fix to the original driver.

This is a dependency, where dmesg isn't flooded with unnecessary debug statements, so if debug is turned on we can get proper relevant logs.

------- Comment on attachment From <email address hidden> 2016-09-01 10:20 EDT-------

This patch is needed in order for full functionality of virtual optical through tcmu. Prior TCMU wasn't properly generating correct sense data back to target core (aka lio), this patch fixes that.

It is still in process of approval.

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-xenial' to 'verification-done-xenial'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!
