Bug Description

I am having many issues to get Ubuntu 16.04.01 LTS to recognize my wireless card (Intel 3160). I have reinstalled the OS many times, but I have the same problem all the time. A couple of days ago, the first time I installed, it worked, but it just stopped working yesterday, so I decided to reinstall the whole system (repartition included). I have Ethernet connection. Please, keep in mind that I am totally newby, so I don't know how to install a package after downloading it. Thank you in advance for your valuable help!

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.7 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joseph,

Thank you for your interest and your time! I have just found the solution thanks to the tip of another user! I have removed the battery from my laptop and turned it on again. I suppose the BIOS needed to be reseted... The important thing is that it worked!

Thank you again!
Regards,
Kisko.
