Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This will help determine if the problem you are seeing is the result of a regression, and when this regression was introduced. If this is a regression, we can perform a kernel bisect to identify the commit that introduced the problem.

when upgraded to xenial,the radeon r7 graphic card can't work.so i update/upgraded on everday.

I have the same "ring 1-8 test failed" error messages on my new HP 17-y011nc notebook.
I am not sure about when it started appearing but the first time I have noticed it was after switching from Linux kernel 4.4.0 to 4.4.8.
I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS fresh installation (since Friday - 3 days old).
According to inxi, I have AMD/ATI Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260/M265].
