Bug Description
I use a laptop (Dell D610) at office which is normally docked to the docking station.
The external monitor, ethernet cable, etc. are connected through this docking station.
Everything else works perfectly (USB connectors, etc.) but the headphone jack doesn't work.
I've tested it on windows and works fine. When i connect the earphones to the jack,
the laptop (on-board) speaker gets muted (like you'd expect), but can't hear anything
through the headphone also.
This problem has been there since Dapper and now I'm using Gutsy. My old bug report
got expired, so opening a new one.

Another user provided a link to a forum thread about getting this to work partially: ubuntuforums. org/showthread. php?t=370909.

Accordingly I'm changing the package from linux source to alsa.
