Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.5 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joseph:

The computer froze just after (or while) resuming from hibernate. (the
desktop was there but everything frozen).
Actually, thinking about it, I think the last time I had hibernation
working was on Ubuntu 14.04.
As for testing the latest upstream kernel. I will try to find some time to
that but I can't promise it can be anytime soon.

Cheers

Geoffray

I hit the problem again.
This time I took the time to install the latest upstream kernel:
linux-headers-4.6.0-040600rc1_4.6.0-040600rc1.201603261930_all.deb
linux-headers-4.6.0-040600rc1-generic_4.6.0-040600rc1.201603261930_amd64.deb
linux-image-4.6.0-040600rc1-generic_4.6.0-040600rc1.201603261930_amd64.deb

It fixes the problem

If the fix is found in the upstream kernel, is it going to be available in the stable kernel for 16.04 anytime soon?
Because with the upstream kernel , I have other issues (some display corruption and the openafs kernel module)

Thanks.
