Bug Description

M-Audio Delta 1010LT doesn't work at all.

#modprobe snd-ice1712
modprobe: FATAL: Module snd-ice1712 not found.

#ls /lib/modules/4.4.0-2-generic/kernel/sound/pci/ice1712
snd-ice1724.ko snd-ice17xx-ak4xxx.ko
Same problem with 4.4.0-0-generic

This problem also detected in 4.5.0-040500rc1-generic. (kernel ppa mainline)

I guess that an error in the source code. I have not found my sound card in the list, when configuring the kernel, before building from source. (make menuconfig)

Denis - you'll have to install linux-lowlatency in order to have support for that device. Enabling NVDIMMs in linux-generic precludes support for legacy DMA devices that can only address RAM below 16MB.

I do not need a kernel with low-latency, but I need the support of my sound card.
Where people can see a list of hardware which support is broken by Ubuntu developers in generic kernel 4.3 and higher? I certainly do not care. I will build a customized kernel from source. But what about newbies? Have you thought about them? Such 'innovations' frighten users away from Ubuntu. Don't you think that the generic kernel must support as much hardware as possible?
