I have a rt2870/my7610u (Asus USB AC51)and I try driver which is in Asus or Mediatek website

But I can't use "make" to make file ,and I got "error 2" from the terminal .

I checked the offical driver and i found THIS CODE in /common/rtusb_dev_id.c

 {USB_DEVICE(0x0B05,0x17D1)}, /* MT7610U */

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.4 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Starting from Linux Kernel 4.19, the Asus USB-AC51 is supported.

See https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/v4.19/drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt76x0/usb.c#L30

You might wanna give it a try.
