Bug Description
shuttle ss50
tested with kubuntu gutsy rc1 and alt install cd
tested with debian edgy also
detects the onboard rtl8139 rev 10 as a 8139c and loads the 8139cp module
the installer output suggests you load the 8139too module
but the installer loops loading the 8139c module (approx 10 times )
this then says the link is up even if the ethernet cable is removed
(the packet count is zero)...
the loaded modules are
8139cp
mii
ipv6 used 8 times
8139too
its not possible to remove ipv6
i think af_packer was also loaded

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
